Welcome to the most spirited tailgating scene in the NFL. Highmark Stadium (formerly New Era Field/Ralph Wilson Stadium) is legendary not just for the game, but for the table-smashing passion of the Bills Mafia.
The Atmosphere
It gets loud. It gets cold. It gets wild. Highmark Stadium is an open-air facility known for swirling winds and heavy lake-effect snow.
After every score, the stadium erupts into the "Shout!" song. You better know the words ("The Bills make me wanna shout!"). It is the anthem of Western New York.
Tailgating Guide
Tailgating in Orchard Park is a religion. The lots open 4 hours before kickoff, and "Pinto Ron" (Ken Johnson) has been grilling on the hood of his car in the Hammers Lot for decades.

Top Tailgate Lots
- 🚗Hammers Lot
The Vatican of Bills tailgating. Private lot, walking distance. This is where the die-hards are.
- 🌾Grass Lots
Along Abbott Road, these offer a muddy, authentic experience. Perfect for the rowdier crowd.
- 🏟️Stadium Lots 1-7
Official paved lots. Clean but strictly regulated. Good for families.
Seating Tips
- Lower Bowl (100s): High energy, standing most of the game. Section 121 is behind the Bills bench.
- The Rock Pile (200s): End zone seating. Historically raucous and budget-friendly.
- Upper Deck (300s): Prepare for wind. The temperature feels 10-15 degrees colder up here. Dress accordingly.
What to Eat
Only one answer matters: Buffalo Wings. While you should eat them at Bar-Bill Tavern or Duffs before the game, concession stands do serve La Nova pizza and wings.
Beef on Weck: A roast beef sandwich on a kummelweck roll (kosher salt and caraway seeds). A local staple available at multiple stands.
Construction Update (New Stadium)
Note: The "New Highmark Stadium" is currently under construction across the street and is scheduled to open in 2026/2027. Enjoy the history of the current building while it stands!
